IRENE SHARPE TAYLOR

Irene Sharpe Taylor, age 91, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Hospice Savannah. She was born in Toombs County and lived in Brunswick, Georgia for 10 years and moved to Savannah in 1951. Mrs. Taylor worked for Union Camp for fourteen years. A devoted Christian, she was a member of Fellowship Assembly of God Church in Garden City.
Mrs. Taylor well loved, was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Madison V. Taylor, daughters, Veneta Taylor, Lanora Penfield, son Madison V. Taylor, Jr., two grandsons Raymond Taylor, Jr. and David Gerald Eason.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Judi Taylor of Pooler, Ga. and Danny and Phyliss Taylor of Guyton, Ga.; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Johnnie and Jerry Eason of Savannah and Joann Wallace and the late Kenny Wallace of Savannah, her son-in-law, Harry Penfield of Pooler, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are her two sisters and brother-in-laws, Vera Mae Dumph of Winter Park, FL., Leola and Troy Williams of Lyons, Ga. and her brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Selena Sharpe of Lyons, Ga.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 14, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel

Funeral Services will Friday, August 15, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with the Reverend Clifford Coursey and Reverend Earnie Pirkle officiating.

Burial will be in the Sharpe Cemetery in Alston, Georgia, Toombs County at 3 p.m.
